Always Proud!

“The suggestion was made on a Sunday morning recently by Leslie Battis. We were a bit late in planning, and I wanted to make the point that Pride is not limited to June, so we called it “Always Proud” and planned for this past weekend on July 6. I emailed the Norfolk Justice Crew to see who was interested, and Emily King and Jane Williams stepped up to help me focus our planning and work out details. Once we’d picked a date and time and ironed out specifics, we asked the Justice Crew for volunteers for specific tasks and many people agreed to help. We really had no idea how many people would attend, and my personal hopes were far exceeded – we easily had 60-70 people attend, including 10 or so Yale Music School students. We will definitely repeat this.” – Pastor Erick Olsen, who also took the photos.
