Trees with Leaves are “Growing” in the Sanctuary!

Trees are “growing” their leaves in the sanctuary! Each week during Lent, a different type of leaf is passed out to the congregation along with a prompting question related to the sermon. We’ve had maples, oaks and birches so far, and a wonderful variety of thoughtful answers. As we move through this season of Lent we are pondering new growth, for the springtime greening of the trees and for us in God’s love.

Here are the prompting questions so far. How would you answer?

  • 3/9 – How will we grow goodness and mercy by our actions toward our neighbors?
  • 3/16 – What might we shed – or start – to help us grow in the practice of love?
  • 3/23 – How will we spread the word that each and all of us are worthy of the love of God – and of each other?
  • 3/30 – What can we do to diminish our worries and move ahead with confidence in our lives?
