Lead Abatement in Progress

The first step in the restoration of our steeple, once safely on the ground and money raised, is lead abatement. The team is chemically removing the hazardous lead-based paint before the carpentry work can begin. Our first photo is of workers in hazmat gear removing paint, The photos after that show some of the problems with the wood, now more visible with close-up viewpoint and paint removed. Weather permitting, the lead abatement should be finished by the end of the week. The photos are taken by the contractors who are fully documenting their work.
