On March 22nd, Garet & Co., a professional contemporary dance company, hosted a beginner friendly class from and an open rehearsal day where guests were welcomed to sit in on their rehearsals. This entire day served as a fundraiser for Garet & Co.’s upcoming show here at Battel Chapel on Saturday April 11th at 7pm and Sunday April 12th at 2pm.

“All the World is Green” marks Garet&Co’s fourth performance in the stunning space of Battell Chapel, where each year audience members get a chance to view the company’s work from a fresh perspective, and enjoy both the gorgeous venue and the ability to connect intimately with each piece through the unique seating arrangement.

“All the World is Green” marks an important moment for Garet&Co: the company will be combining two of its premier works (“WONDERFUL” and “i kinda wish the apocalypse would just happen already”) and extending the work to its full conclusion. We are honored to acknowledge that the creation of this full work has been funded in part by New England Foundation for the Arts’ New England Dance Fund, with generous support from the Aliad Fund at the Boston Foundation.

“All the World is Green” will also present one of our most celebrated pieces from “Nostalgia:” “Sun Bleached Flies,” as well as the full version of our landmark piece, “bodieshatewomen.” In addition to these works, the show will also mark the debut of a new duet on two of our professional dancers, as well as an ensemble piece set by Garet on our Student & Apprentice Members.

We are so excited to return to Norfolk and celebrate contemporary dance in our company’s favorite venue!

Registration is Required for All the World is Green and tickets may be purchased here.
